Jagame Thanthiram Review

agame Thanthiram is a stylish gangster saga starring Dhanush. It is directed by Karthik Subbaraj and was promoted heavily on Netflix. The trailer raised the expectations of the audience, especially since the film is also starring Dhanush. It was a huge success on the theatrical and TV releases, and the producers YNot Entertainment have managed to create unprecedented hype for the film.
Joju George as Sivadoss

The upcoming Dhanush film Jagame Thandhiram will feature Dhanush, James Cosmo, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Joju George. The movie was supposed to release in 2020, but the Covid-19 pandemic forced the producers to release it on Netflix instead. You can watch the movie online starting June 18.

Known for his work in Malayalam cinema, Joju George is making his Kollywood debut. In Sivadoss, he plays the negative role of a gangster. Recently, he has played a stoic Maniyappan in Nayattu, Siraj in Halal Love Story, and Appachan in Kilometers and Miles. The actor also played Babu in the recent Tamil film Virus. It will be interesting to watch how Joju George plays a gangster in Tamil cinema.
Aishwarya Lekshmi as Suruli

Director Karthik Subbaraj is not quite as confident with his script as he is in his acting. While the dialogues and narrative seem to be hurried, there is a nagging sense of tedium as the protagonist struggles to understand others. Some setups work well, while others don’t. However, Suruli’s arc towards becoming a “semi-good” guy is questionable.

After the first episode, Suruli meets and falls in love with a beautiful Srilankan Tamil girl and is saved from certain death by the latter. During a flashback, Suruli reverts to her mother’s arms. After listening to the story told by Sivadoss, Suruli’s heart changes and she defeats her brothers.
Dhanush as Sivadoss

Dhanush’s performance as Sivadoss in Jagame Thandhiram is a mixed bag. His character is perplexing, and his gangster Suruli is eccentric and strong, trying to take on Sivadoss. The film is a mix of action and comedy, which suits Dhanush’s skills. Despite being a teen actor, Dhanush pulls off the role with ease.

The film features Suruli, a low-level gangster in Madurai, who runs a Porotta outlet. His rival, Peter, is a white supremacist who is at odds with the Tamilian immigrant Sivadoss, who rises to power in the city’s underworld. Sivadoss provides refuge for Tamil refugees, which Peter tries to seize. He backs a proposed anti-refugee law, and tries to seize control of Sivadoss’ crime empire.
James Cosmo as Deepan

Born on 24 May 1948, James Ronald Gordon Copeland is best known for his roles as older warriors in historical dramas. Known for his role as Glaucus in the HBO series Troy, Cosmo was also an original cast member of the Scottish soap opera, Take the High Road. He played the role alongside fellow Scot, Susan Boyle. His other starring roles include the title role in Braveheart and the role of Dr. Thomas More in the movie version.
Karthik Subbaraj’s direction

A Tamil film that is based on a true story is sure to be a hit on the box office. Karthik Subbaraj is a writer, producer, and director who works primarily in Tamil cinema. His film “Jagame Thanthiram” is a compelling drama that will leave you awestruck. Here’s why:

Director Karthik Subbaraj is no stranger to a good idea, and this Tamil film is no exception. His work has a knack for creating ideas that make for intriguing films. While Subbaraj may lack the writing chops to write a convincing story, his unique style of filmmaking makes for an absorbing experience. Jagame Thanthiram has many of the traits that make a good film stand out.
The film’s soundtrack

The film’s soundtrack is a collection of songs that are played during a film’s runtime. Composers write these music compositions under the guidance of the director and the producer. These songs are often based on themes from the film’s score, and are often performed by a group of musicians. Film composers typically do not include lyrics, but may use choirs or instrumental soloists to perform the songs.

The music on a film’s soundtrack can reflect the mood of the movie, as well as the personalities of the characters. A melody may remind you of a particular character, and the film’s soundtrack is an integral part of that. Composers often make original pop songs based on the theme of the film. For instance, the score of Titanic features James Horner’s “My Heart Will Go On.”
